Hi,Gary.Before all these exercises, I had no idea about web 2 technologies. I was using only facebook and youtube but now I know Flickr,blog,RSS feeds,podcast,Instant message, MySpace,Wikis etc. . It is amazing, great and most of them free services.

It allows to share and get any information from anywhere at any time. Web 2 will help libraries to get closer to the clients. Fast and easy way to take the attention of new generation. Library 2.0 will make the library’s space, virtual, collaborative, and driven by community needs.

EXERCISE 10,Canada Bay Library

 My local library Canada Bay  are using web 2.0 technologies.
These are  flickr, blog,twitter ,facebook,my space,digg and delicious. They are using these technologies  to share  the web page with  canada bay community  the services information that has been offered by the library. 

Adult, Seniors and References: Only Twitter ,facebook,my space,digg and delicious are available   to share the web page .Also they provide OverDrive eLibrary24/7 service.

 Local studies services : They are using   flickr on the local studies page  to see a selection of images and also "Canada Bay Connections Blog" is  available to share some images and  informations.

   Children services:  There are only  useful Library Links for Kids, these are

• Summer Reading Club    

 Youth service:Canada Bay  library provides additional links for youth and

Additionally in the library’s  web page for all these services , it  provides share option with facebook,my space,digg ,delicious and buzz, web 2 technologies.

In my opinion using Library 2.0 technologies  making the library’s space,

1- Virtual

2- Collaborative

3- More interactive and driven by community needs.

Layout, Exercise 13

I clicked on Layout then Navbar, edit then changed the Navbar configuration, selected blue. Also I add gadget on my blog.  I selected fish, calendar and image. I used gadget from most popular section .I like my fish, but I did not like calendar and will remove   from my blog.  I liked playing with gadget.  

Changing the colour of my blog

I changed the colour of my blog to using template then customise.

I selected  the background image in the area of Nature, then adjusted the width, layout.I changed Entire blog and right side bar size.
 
I also used Advanced option and changed background also font,header, link,blog title and   border colour. I used  light blue,light purple,blue,green and yellow which all my favourite colours.These colours makes me feel calm and relax.

finally I clicked on "Apply to blog" option.
